Do I need my own API keys?
Yes. ReelMeld uses the providers you configure. Transcription can use Groq Whisper or OpenAI Whisper, while translation, optimization, and transcript generation use Google Gemini. Keys are encrypted locally and shown masked in the app.
Do files pass through ReelMeld servers?
No. File selection, task history, output management, and generated files stay on your computer. When an AI step is needed, ReelMeld connects directly from your device to the provider you configured; that provider’s own processing terms still apply.
What files can one source file produce?
For a source such as workflow-demo.mp4, ReelMeld can create files like workflow-demo.srt, workflow-demo.origin.srt, workflow-demo.en-US.srt or .vtt, workflow-demo.transcript.md, and workflow-demo.burned.mp4, depending on the tasks and formats you choose.
Can I edit or deliver the results outside ReelMeld?
Yes. Subtitles, transcripts, and videos are saved as ordinary local files in the location you choose, so you can continue editing them in subtitle editors, text editors, video tools, players, or folders.
